What is the Career Development Studio
This will be a day-long event organized in conjunction with the Office of AIDS Research and multiple Institutes at the NIH. The Career Development Studio will include sessions focused on resources available to Early Stage Investigators (ESI), skill-building didactics and roundtables. The day will also have a highly interactive “Science Studio”, where ESIs can get individualized feedback on their research projects from leaders in the field.
This year's Studio will take place on Wednesday 13th December 2023 at 8:00 AM ET until 5:30 PM ET (timings to be confirmed) at the following location:

Why you should want to participate
This is a superb opportunity to get insights about launching your career in this field. You will interact and network with NIH program officials, expert faculty, and junior colleagues from around the world. You will also get feedback on your work in a small group setting.
Application eligibility
Any ESI engaged in HIV Comorbidity/PASC research who is developing or has an ongoing research project in the field. ESI is defined as an investigator who is within 10 years of either a terminal research degree or medical residency or equivalent. It is not necessary to have submitted an abstract to the 2023 Workshop to be eligible, but this is highly encouraged. ESIs who do present their research as a poster or oral abstract at the 2023 workshop can present the same project at the studio to get more feedback. ESIs from diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.
Any ESI engaged in HIV Comorbidity/Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS CoV-2 (PASC) Research who is developing or has an ongoing research project in the field. ESI is defined as an investigator who is currently in training or within 10 years of completing a terminal research degree (eg, PhD, DPT, PharmD) or medical residency or equivalent. It is not necessary to have submitted an abstract to the 2023 Workshop to be eligible, but this is highly encouraged. ESIs who present their research as a poster or oral abstract at the 2023 workshop can present the same project at the studio.
ESIs from diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply. ESIs from Low and Middle Income Countries are also eligible to apply to the Cooper Scholarship program which supports travel, accommodations, and registration to the Studio and the associated Workshop.
